ACHIEVEMENTS AND HIGHLIGHTS AT THE FIRST STAGE OF THE SPROUT PROJECT
IN 2018-2019

 

The aim of the MU RICH Higher Education Sprout Project was to optimize the effectiveness of student learning and help students to enhance their employability.

  1. Enhancing guidance for socio-economic and culturally disadvantaged students.
  2. Improving the quality of teachers. Retaining and recruiting good teachers with professional experience.
  3. Implementing innovative teaching which will contribute to the curriculum design.
  4. The following summary describes key highlights:

Implementing innovative teaching and improving teaching quality

1.1.  Upgrade facility and equipment used in teaching and develop high-quality teaching materials.

  • Building the infrastructure required for constructing smart campuses to support mobile learning.
  • 100% wireless network coverage at the south campus.
  • 100% cloud-based platform and digital classroom.
  • Two high-quality digital textbooks were developed by our school. Meiho University was the recipient of a 2017 digital learning materials production award. A total of 40 innovative textbooks.

1.2.  Improve teaching and effectivenes

  • 31 teaching communities by using innovative teaching models have won the "Innovative SI Service Competition" in second place and " National Intelligent Robotics Competition " in gold medal.

1.3.  Career Development & Licensing.

  • Acceptance rate over 95% for the Level 2 Technical Certificate in Nail Treatments.
  • Acceptance rate over 91% for online marketing Specialist.
  • 97% acceptance rate for technician for catering and tourism service.
  • 100% acceptance rate for PS video editing and production license.(Counseling internship course: 35 interns could not adopt in the 107 academic year and 9 students in the 108 academic year.)

Developing university Features

2.1.  Improving R&D, innovation and entrepreneurship

  • Ten teams which consist of 10 teachers and 41 students.
  • Five groups have launched commercialized products.
  • It was the recipient of a Jet-Go Consulting National Innovation Competition award in third place.
  • It was selected in Taiwan finals for the Cross-Strait (Beijing-Taiwan) Competition.
  • It was the recipient of a Core Products of Smart Transformation forum 2019 for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Award in bronze medal.

2.2.  Connecting international students with new residents.

  • In order to implement New Southbound Policy, there were 18th transnational cultural exchange activities.
  • An international environment was created.
  • 18th foreign language tutoring classes.
  • There are currently 35 international exchange schools (18 in Southeast Asia). 13 new schools have been added between 2018 to 2020.
  • Among the top 50 universities ranked by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam in 2018, 7 sister schools cooperate with our school.

Making Resources More Public

3.1.  Financial assistance

  • 1,500 students received counseling services.
  • 14% of students reduced the number of working hours.
  • 75% of students took the initiative to increase the attendance rate.
  • More than 80% of students received financial and academic assistance.

3.2.  Classwork assistance

  • 407 people participated peer tutoring.
  • More than 80% of them received higher scores.

3.3.  The Disclosure of University Affairs Information

  • 100% of the projects required by the Ministry of Public Affairs have been met, and 14 items of information including school affairs, educational affairs, and school administration have been added year by year. (Link)

Fulfill social responsibility

4.1.  Deep Plowing for Local Industry

  • In 2018, 28th deep plowing activities for the local industry were held.
  • In 2019, 4th activities in related to the development and upgrading of the local industry.
  • There were 6 Hakka cultural industry events.
  • 9 marine cultural industry events.
  • 5 aboriginal cultural events to promote the development of surrounding industries.

4.2.  Promote the Local Culture

  • In 2018, the King Ship in Dong-Gang Ying-Wang were linked with the Neipu Matsu Temple.
  • Han Yu's beliefs.
  • Design a series of activities of the Ocean Culture Education Exhibition to promote local culture.

4.3.  Linking Local and Sea Lines

  • In 2019, 9 marine cultural education activities related to schools and communities were held.
